Cade per la prima volta dall’inizio del campionato, e cade in casa la XL Extralight di Coach Panotto, che non riesce a rispondere a tono a una Piacenza a caccia della terza vittoria consecutiva, dopo quelle contro Jesi e Roseto. Che la Bakery si presentasse al Palasavelli con il coltello fra i denti si sapeva, e i fatti lo hanno dimostrato. Ottimo gioco di squadra e rotazione impeccabile fra le fila di coach Coppeta, con un Crosariol incontenibile tanto in attacco, con schiacciate vertiginose, quanto in difesa, stoppando appena se ne presenta l’occasione. Punteggio alto nel primo quarto, che si chiude sulla parità di 19 punti, con la Poderosa che non riesce a contenere gli avversari sotto canestro.

Amoroso dice la sua all’inizio del secondo quarto, e Coppeta risponde facendolo marcare da Crosariol. Più snella e priva di errori la corsa della Poderosa, che dopo tre minuti di gioco ha messo in cassaforte un parziale di 7-0. Black out per i veregrensi: al rientro dall’intervallo lungo inizia l’ascesa piacentina. Green è inarrestabile, e gli fanno eco tutti i compagni di squadra. Parziale di 4/21, con Voskuil che rincara la dose da due ed ai liberi. Non molla la presa Corbet, che si inventa di tutto come pure fa Treier, che segna una miracolosa bomba, proprio sulla sirena, dalla linea da tre degli avversari. Chiuso il parziale di 14/25, si va al quarto quarto sul 50/56.
Meno dieci per Amoroso e compagni a cinque minuti dalla fine, che capiscono che difendere non sia poi una brutta idea e contengono gli avversari fino al 55/66, dopodichè un ottimo Castelli torna a segnare. Non c’è più nulla da fare per la Poderosa, cui va il merito di averci creduto fino alla fine, mentre a Piacenza –pur senza il fondamentale apporto tregua di Pederzini, che ha assistito alla vittoria dei suoi dalla tribuna- quello di aver sfruttato ogni minimo errore dell’avversario ed essere andata a caccia di palloni senza. La partita finisce 62/73.
